Events include the Dirranbandi Show held on the weekend after Easter. Over the Easter long weekend, Dirranbandi hosts a Fishing Competition. The Polocrosse carnival is held in July each year with teams traveling from Northern NSW and southern Queensland to compete.
Pony Club is strong in Dirranbandi as is golf and tennis. Campdrafts are held twice a year in April and August. The Rugby Union Cotton Cup is hotly contested in July between the Goondiwindi and St.George teams.
Overnight camping and fishing are popular on the banks of the Balonne Minor River. For Tourism information - drop into the Rural Transaction Centre or the Dirran Pub.
Situated on the Qld NSW border, the Culgoa Floodplain National Park is an ideal spot for birdwatching. Visitors to this park are expected to be totally self sufficient, for further information the Ranger on 07 4625 0942.
