St George is the larger town in the Shire, its features include country gardens and a wonderful riverside walkway along the Balonne River frontage. The 2km walkway can be entered from St Georges Terrace via cement footpaths. Sunrise and sunset are special times to enjoy the soft colors, atmosphere of the river gums, landscaping and bird-life.

Dirranbandi has a wonderful park in the Centre of Town for visitors and community to enjoy. Mungindi has the 1Tonne Post and has a lovely River Camping area. Bollon offers a wonderful riverside walk from Town to the Free Camping area. Thallon is home to colourful Silo Murals and a giant climbing structure "William, the Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat" in the Town Park.
